Flights to Santorini: Budget Guide
Santorini is the most expensive Greek island — those Instagram caldera views come at $85–110/day. It's brutal for backpackers, but there are hacks if you know where to stay and when to go.
30-day Santorini budget
At $85–110/day, Santorini is a budget backpacker's nightmare. Dorms start at $40+, a gyros is $5–6, and a sunset beer with a view runs $7. The hack: stay in Fira, not Oia — 20% cheaper for the same caldera views. More in our budget beaches Greece guide.
Flights to Santorini from your city
Santorini (JTR) has direct summer flights from across Europe — Ryanair, easyJet, Transavia all compete. Off-season, connect through Athens (ATH) and take the Blue Star ferry — 8 hours, $35–45, but the deck views are worth it.

Seasonality data is not yet available for this destination.
June through September is peak — prices are brutal and the caldera path is shoulder-to-shoulder. October and November are the sweet spot: still warm, the Aegean is swimmable until mid-November, and flights drop 40–50% below summer peak.
Santorini (JTR) to Fira is 15 minutes by bus ($2). The bus meets every flight. A taxi to Fira runs $15, to Oia $25–30. The airport is tiny — one runway, one terminal, no stress.
