Cuba is unlike anywhere else and deliberately so. The classic cars, the salsa on every corner, the crumbling grandeur of Havana's Malecón, the tobacco fields of Viñales — it's an experience that feels borrowed from another era. The internet barely works, which forces you to actually talk to people. Travelling here requires cash (cards don't work for most visitors), flexibility and a tolerance for bureaucracy that's worth developing. Trinidad is the best-preserved colonial town in the Caribbean.
